Oakhampton to home. The bus from Oakhampton to Exeter was the X9, supposedly an express service, well it was late. Ian and I shot up stairs and sat at the front of the double decker bus so we could see the route we had taken the day before which had roughly followed the A30. Luckily the bus got a move on, so although we were late arriving at Exeter St David’s, luckily so was the so was the South West Train service to London, Waterloo. I hold a SW train Season ticket so are able to travel at weekends for free and a £5 each upgrade saw us sitting in first class, enjoying our freshly hand-made sandwiches courtesy of the local baker in Oakhampton (no Greggs there either) and a Saturday paper. Safe arrival at Waterloo saw us go our separate ways having arranged a planning conference at the new JOGLE HQ to sort out JOGLE 5 which is going to be John O Groats to Fort William in May 2012. I’m off to the Military School of Languages at Beaconsfield to see if I can learn the lingo for this next trip and I must remember to apply for my visa. Luckily Ian is part native being that when we first met in Colehill in the 70s he was an ardent Celtic supporter having moved to Dorset from Edinburgh.
Total 122 miles
